Got Some Spare Time? Help Others

City Gate Volunteer Duties and Activities

There are many volunteer opportunities available here at City Gate with different levels of commitment.  We have some volunteers who come once a month, as well as some who come up to once or twice a week.  Volunteers are essential to this ministry.  We cannot offer many of the services we do without the help of our volunteers!

If you are interested in volunteering, we try to match your gifts with the volunteer opportunities we have.  Some of these opportunities are:
• Serving at an evening meal (as an individual or a group).  This could involve working in the kitchen, serving food to clients, welcoming and seating people, or checking bags.
• Sorting clothes for the clothing bank
• Serving coffee and welcoming people during the day
• Working in the kitchen (requires a food handler’s permit; more information available at: http://www.srhd.org/safety/food/foodpermits.asp)
            • Cleaning the building
            • Serving holiday meals, such as Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas
We are always open to other ideas you may have for volunteering opportunities.

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out a volunteer application and return in to City Gate.  You will need to then set up a time to meet with the leadership of City Gate to decide where you best fit in this ministry.
